The pattern for this delightful quilt was released at “the 3 Know-it-Alls” retreat in Cootamundra in October this year. Inspired by an antique quilt made in the mid 1800s, the “Pieced Printed Cotton and Chintz Patchwork Dewindt Quilt, Michigan with initials E.Y. and date 1853 stitched on one reverse corner” sold at auction in 2007.
My version uses English Paper Piecing for the centre applique, hexagons and octagon flowers combined with either hand or machine piecing of the surrounding blocks which can be rotary cut. The finished size is 65″ square
